The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
