The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
