The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
