The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 25
