The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He hath created man. 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
