The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He hath created man. 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
