The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
