The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He has created man: 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
