The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
