The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
