The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 Created man, 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
