▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
And for him who dreadeth the standing before his Lord will be two Gardens. 46 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 47 [two gardens] of many wondrous hues. 48 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 49 In the two Gardens flow two springs. 50 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 51 In which will be of every fruit two kinds. 52 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 53 Reclining on beds, the inner coverings of which are of silk brocade; and the fruits of the two gardens shall be within reach. 54 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 55 Therein shall be those of refraining looks whom before them hath deflowered neither man nor jinn. 56 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 57 Like unto Rubies and coral. 58 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 59 Is the reward of goodness aught but goodness? 60 Which of the laudable attributes of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 61 And beside these there shall be two Gardens. 62 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 63 Dark-green in colour (from plentiful watering). 64 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 65 In both of them are two springs gushing forth. 66 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 67 In both of them will be [all kinds of] fruit, and date-palms and pomegranates. 68 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 69 In them good and comely maidens -- 70 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 71 [There the blest will live with their] companions pure and modest, in pavilions [splendid] 72 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 73 Untouched before them by man or jinni - 74 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 75 Reclining on green cushions and beautiful decorated carpets. 76 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 77 HALLOWED be thy Sustainer's name, full of majesty and glory! 78
