▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
There are two gardens for one who fears standing before his Lord. 46 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - 47 [There will be two gardens with] spreading branches. 48 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 49 In [each of] these two [gardens] two springs will flow. 50 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 51 In which are fruits of all kinds, each of two varieties. 52 Which of your Lord's favours will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 53 They shall recline on couches lined with brocade, and within reach shall hang the fruits of the two Gardens. 54 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 55 In them shall be those who restrained their eyes; before them neither man nor jinni shall have touched them. 56 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 57 As though they are jacinth and coral. 58 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 59 Shall the recompense of goodness be other than goodness? 60 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 61 And besides these two, there are two other Gardens (i.e. in Paradise). 62 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 63 Dark green with foliage. 64 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 65 In [each of] these two [gardens] will two springs gush forth. 66 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 67 In both of them there will be fruit trees and date-palms and pomegranates. 68 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 69 In them shall be good and pleasing. 70 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 71 Maidens (of Paradise, Houris) in cloistered cool pavilions. 72 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? - 73 Whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them. 74 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- 75 Reclining on green cushions and beautiful carpets. 76 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 77 Blessed is the Name of your Lord, the Lord of Glory and Grace. 78
