The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and spreading shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 and made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For those on the right. 38
