The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and serried acacias, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 near to flowing water 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 loving and of equal age. 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
