The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 a good many of those of olden times, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And shade extended 30 And water gushing, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 for the people of the right hand 38
