The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 and a few from later times. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 The Companions of the Right 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 And water poured out 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For those on the right hand; 38
