The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and shade extended, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
