The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And there shall be such as will have lost themselves in evil: oh, how [unhappy] will be they who have lost themselves in evil! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And raised couches. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38

Notes and Instructions

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
