The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 there is no denying its coming 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 The reward for what they did. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And those on the right how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and clustered bananas, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And carpets raised. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgins. 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
