The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and spreading shade 30 near to flowing water 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
