The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 and a few from later times. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and serried acacias, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water poured out 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 for those on the Right, 38
