The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And spreading shade, 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruit in plenty 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
