The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and serried acacias, 29 And extended shade, 30 and flowing water, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And carpets raised. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 For those of the right hand. 38
