The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few from the latter. 14 On studded thrones. 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 and banana trees, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And abundant fruit, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 And have made them virgins. 36 full of love, well-matched 37 for the people of the right hand 38
