The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 and banana trees, 29 and extended shade, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
