The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and spreading shade 30 near to flowing water 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 So made them as maidens. 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
