The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And there shall be such as will have lost themselves in evil: oh, how [unhappy] will be they who have lost themselves in evil! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 and a few from later times. 14 on lavish couches 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water everflowing. 31 and abundant fruits, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And carpets raised. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 for the people of the right hand 38
