The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On studded thrones. 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And fruit of what they select 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and serried acacias, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water poured out 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
