The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 and serried acacias, 29 and shade extended, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38
