The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Terror descends 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 and a few from later times. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 like hidden pearls, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And clustered plantains, 29 and extended shade, 30 and flowing water, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 and raised couches 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
