The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and extended shade, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 for the people of the right hand 38
