The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 a good many of those of olden times, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 On lined couches, 15 facing one another. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 In shade long-extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And exalted thrones. 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 and made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 For those on the right. 38

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
