The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The Companions of the Right 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 And spreading shade, 30 and gushing water, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
