The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 and spreading shade 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and fruits abounding 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 and upraised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 So made them as maidens. 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
