The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and spreading shade 30 and flowing water, 31 And fruit in plenty 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And have made them virgins. 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For those on the right. 38
