The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 The reward for what they did. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and serried acacias, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And couches raised up. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
