The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 Who will be honoured 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 and banana trees, 29 And spreading shade, 30 and flowing water 31 And fruit abundant. 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
