The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And fruit in plenty 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 for those on the Right, 38

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
