The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and spreading shade 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And raised couches; 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgins. 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
