The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 there is no denying its coming 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And fruit of what they select 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and extended shade, 30 Gushing water, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 And made them virgins. 36 chastely amorous, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
