96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And shade extended 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 and upraised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
