The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And water gushing, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And carpets raised. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgins. 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
