The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 Who will be honoured 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On studded thrones. 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 The reward for what they did. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 and spreading shade 30 Gushing water, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 and upraised couches. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38
