The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In gardens of delight; 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few from the latter. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 like hidden pearls, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and serried acacias, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And made them virgins. 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
