The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and shade extended, 30 and flowing water, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 for those on the Right, 38
