The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 like hidden pearls, 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 And shade extended 30 And water poured out 31 and abundant fruit, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 and raised couches 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
