The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 Who will be honoured 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 And water gushing, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And couches raised up. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
