The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruit of what they select 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 and clustered bananas, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and waters gushing, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
