The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of later ages, 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and amid the extended shade 30 And water poured out 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And carpets raised. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
